There's only one story because there's only one cycle.
Hollywood and the powers that be are terrified you'll discover this. Every myth, movie, poem, painting, and Saturday morning cartoon says the same thing, drawn from the same journey. And it doesn't belong to you alone, but to all plants, animals, water, and even the sun.
Everything in existence is tethered to this Story.
The people who told you there was more than one story are the same ones who told you there was more than one religion, more than one political party, that "you" are just the reflection in the mirror. Seeing through that lie is like waking from a dream. The ancients had a hundred names for it: "neti, neti" in Sanskrit, crucifixion at Golgotha, negative theology, and finally, to modern ears, the hero's journey. This awakening shifts reality and heroes begin to notice that events in the cycle of history all happened at the same time, in the same way, and for the same reasons. This is because we don't see the world as it is, we see it as we are. All perception is projection, and just like the protagonists we all love to watch and write, this change in perception produces a change in our world.
In every story you've ever read or watched, the hero learns two things: that everything they know is wrong, and that the things they can't question are always a lie. It's why Yoda told Luke to unlearn all he had learned. It's true in Story because it's true in us.
The outer journey they teach in film school isn't real. Every camera cut is just the hero turning within. But watching someone think for two hours is boring, so we invented the outer journey. And those who wanted control buried that truth and sold us the lie that we aren't sovereign.
You are the axis mundi. Knowing is your birthright. It just lies forgotten at the blurred edge of a shamed imagination, and it takes a storyteller to help you remember.
Because when you uncover the secrets of Story, you uncover the truth about yourself. And once you've seen it, you can't be manipulated again. Not by advertising. Not by mandates.
That's the power Story births within you.
