Finding Yourself Series

"All perception is projection."

finding yourself in

Plato's cave

The hero's journey is just a blueprint on how to change your mind. The plot in a story is just the external manifestation of this. The problem is that the conscious mind can't quantify or categorize the subconscious mind. Separation can never understand union. This is why books on writing never make us better writers. Something is always lost in translation. It's true all of us are in Plato's cave, but it's also true that we aren't. The point of every book ever written is that you have two selves. One of you is shackled in the bliss of ignorance. The other is seated in heavenly places. Heroes become whole by recombining these parts in an alchemical marriage. This is the Noise of Knowingness. There's only one story. There's only one person in that story. And that person is you.

Finding Yourself In

Plato's Chariot

Belief in the soul was a prerequisite for admission into any of the mystery schools. The focus was never on the existence of the soul, but on how many existed... Are we all just fragments of one soul trying to get to know itself? Or do all our souls have a higher and lower part as Plotinus and the Bible suggest? Every story on earth is about humans having a soul, and not just one, but two, and sometimes even three. Plato referred to this as a chariot pulled by two horses. Neurologists have shown that each of us is both a believer and an atheist at the same time! And that this has nothing to do with us, but everything to do with our programming. Which side are you on? Leaving will requires a hero's journey. There's only one story. There's only one person in that story. And that person is you.

Finding Yourself in

the Bible

The Bible (like all holy books) is an inkblot test. It exists to reveal where you are in your awakening. This video explains why Satan works for God throughout the Old Testament and why demons seemingly appear out of nowhere in the New Testament. The literal is always the veil that must be removed to discover the truth within. The Bible is a book of metaphysics, written by metaphysicians. This is especially true of Paul. Remember, we're told Jesus ONLY spoke in parables. He was asked a total of 183 questions. How many did he answer? Three. That's because truth can't be taught, only discovered. That's the entire point of the hero's journey. There's only one story. There's only one person in that story. And that person is you.

Finding yourself in

the divine comedy

It takes both Virgil and Beatrice to ascend the mountain, but that first step always leads to hell. The backbone of every story is the fall and restoration of paradise. This is why all philosophy, religion, and science were invented. All three come from metaphysics, and metaphysics exists because of story. This video goes over the importance of the masculine and feminine energies (minds) and how using only one keeps you stuck in hell or purgatory. Virgil can only lead Dante halfway. It takes Beatrice to get him to heaven. This is true in story because it's true in us. It also covers the conscious and subconscious minds and how the external journey is just an outer manifestation as the hero turns within. There is only one story. There is only one person in that story. And that person is you.
